Terminal Warehouse is a block of brick from 1891. Veronica Leoni set her Spring 2027 collection inside it and let the coats, shirts and slips carry the room.

Calvin Klein Collection showed on the eleventh of September. The venue did the framing and nothing more: brick, scale, a long New York room that has held freight for over a century. Against it, the clothes read as the message rather than the decor.

Leoni built the season from the pieces the house is known for. Coats, shirts, tailoring, trousers, pencil skirts and slips. She narrowed them and lengthened them, and left the rest alone. The work sat in the proportion, not in a novelty item to photograph and forget.

The clothes

Tailoring came in cotton and lightweight wool. Slim three-button suits were cut with ease through the body. Broader-shouldered jackets were made to layer, which gave the daywear a working logic rather than a single silhouette to sell.

Evening arrived quietly. Slip and T-shirt dresses were cut on the bias, so the fabric moved rather than held a shape. Silk knit tees, silk-cady baseball shirts, denim, leather and laser-cut suede widened the sportswear vocabulary, with touches of underwear left visible in the styling.

Colour did the punctuation. Black and several whites formed the base, then scarlet, yellow, royal blue, cherry and a pale citron cut through it. The house named one check after Georgia O'Keeffe's own wardrobe, a reference it stated plainly and did not overwork.

Accessories followed the same discipline. Elongated scarves, bags that ran from structural to slouchy, and a new triangular shape that gives the season something to build around next year.

A white shirt asks for no introduction. The whole collection was made on that confidence.

The Splendid Edit

The quarter

The show landed on an uneven balance sheet. In PVH's second-quarter results, dated the second of September, Calvin Klein revenue fell seven percent on both a reported and a constant-currency basis. The company attributed about four points of that to the timing of wholesale shipments in the Americas.

The picture was not uniform. PVH reported owned digital-commerce revenue up four percent, or three percent in constant currency, with growth across Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Store revenue slipped one percent and wholesale fell six, and the company reaffirmed its full-year outlook.

A collection cannot settle any of that. It can give the brand one clear image to work from, which is the point of a runway inside a business this size. The Spring 2027 show is evidence of direction, not of sell-through.

The reading

Leoni is turning minimalism into a system the rest of Calvin Klein can use. A coat, a shirt, a slip can travel from the runway into a store window and a campaign without a new story at each step. That legibility is worth more to a global label than any single showpiece.

New York has spent the week weighing familiar American houses against their own numbers. Calvin Klein Collection made the strongest case for the plain approach, then handed the harder work to the quarters ahead. The clothes were ready. The receipts will take longer.
