A campaign shot in late April. A wardrobe of cotton poplin, chambray and canvas chinos. The season the house calls L’Eté.

Miu Miu released the 2026 L’Eté collection and campaign from Milan on 20 April, photographed by Jeano Edwards. The pictures sit in long afternoon light, the kind that makes pale cotton glow and brown leather soften. Sateen Besson, Liu Haocun, and the Mantler sisters, Lena and Lisa, model the clothes.

The wardrobe

The base layer is cotton: poplin shirts, chambray shirting, canvas chinos. Logo-detailed blousons and vests sit over the top, jackets cut short and lightly utilitarian. The neatness gets broken in small ways. Printed silk scarves at the neck. Scalloped collars. Necklines gathered at the bust. A bow where you do not expect one.

Skirts arrive abbreviated, edged with smocking, tied at the hips. Mousseline blouses come embroidered. Striped sweaters land over bare legs. The styling reads preppy at a distance and quietly subversive close up, which is the Miu Miu trick at this point in the brand’s run.

The bag

The Vivant is the season’s new bag. The shape is structured, the proportions hand-held, the leather soft. Miu Miu calls it sophisticated and versatile in the press release, which it is. The brand will hope it does for the summer what the Arcadie did for last year, and what the Wander did for the year before.

Around it, accessories stay quiet. Woven leather belts and suede sandals come in chocolate, caramel and tan. The Miu Miu sneaker reappears, a staple of the wardrobe at this point. Cotton drill cowboy hats and the curved Ivresse sunglasses finish each look.

The picture is summer at its most ordinary. Miu Miu makes that read as something earned.

The Splendid Edit

The colour

Brown carries the campaign. Dark chocolate at one end, caramel and tan at the other, with neutrals between. There is little black and less white. The palette tracks against the diurnal light Edwards has built the campaign around, the long hours rather than the bright ones.

The context

L’Eté sits between the F/W 2026 show Miuccia Prada staged in March, and the upcoming Spring 2027 collection that will close out the year. Miu Miu has been the engine of Prada Group’s last twelve months, the growth story that pulled the group through its weakest quarters at Prada. The Vivant bag is the next test of that run.

This is the season Miu Miu reads slow. The collection assumes the wearer is already dressed; it only refines the choices. Buy the chambray shirt and a pair of the chinos. Add a belt. The picture builds itself.
