Nine hundred and twenty-five square metres above the East Sea, two or three bedrooms depending on who is coming, and a private spa house set back in the trees.
Amanoi opened in September 2013 on a headland above Vinh Hy Bay, the twenty-sixth Aman and the first in Vietnam. Jean-Michel Gathy drew it: pavilions with dark tiled roofs curved in the Vietnamese manner, set among granite boulders and dry forest, a clifftop restaurant and pool at one end and a lake with a spa at the other. Thirty-one pavilions and villas in all, plus a private beach of pale sand at the bottom of the slope.
The Ocean Pool Residence is the newest thing on the property and the largest gesture Amanoi has made. It runs from 800 to 925 square metres depending on configuration, arranged as two or three ensuite bedrooms around a living pavilion, an open kitchen and an outdoor dining sala. The main pool faces the water. A timber deck runs the length of it. Below, a path drops to a stretch of sand nobody else uses.
The spa house
The part that separates this residence from the rest of the estate sits behind the bedrooms. A dedicated spa house with a double treatment room, steam room, sauna, outdoor Jacuzzi, lounge, changing room and an ice-bucket shower. Guests booking the Signature Residence rate get a therapist assigned to the house and a ninety-minute treatment each, per person, per night.
Amanoi already had four residences. The five-bedroom Pool Residence covers a thousand square metres; the four-bedroom takes 800; the three-bedroom and the two-bedroom Ocean Pool Residence each take 700. Those look inland to the mountains as much as out to sea. This one commits entirely to the water, with the bedrooms angled east so the sun comes up in front of them.

The bay
Núi Chúa National Park surrounds the resort and carries UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status. It is the driest corner of Vietnam, closer to thorn scrub than jungle, with green turtles nesting on beaches along the same coast and langurs in the higher forest. The shore road up from Phan Rang is one of the better drives in the country and almost empty most of the year.
A house that comes with its own therapist, its own boat and its own sand is really selling the absence of everybody else.
The Splendid EditThe address has changed without the resort moving. Ninh Thuận merged into Khánh Hòa on 1 July 2025 under National Assembly Resolution 202/2025/QH15, and Amanoi now lists Vinh Hy Village, Vinh Hai Commune, Khánh Hòa Province. The combined province holds close to 500 kilometres of coast, the longest of any in Vietnam.

Signature Residence stays run to 31 March 2028 and come loaded: full board, a two-hour catamaran cruise in the bay with caviar and Champagne, a private Vietnamese dinner with traditional performances and a Cham blessing ceremony, a film screened by the pool with popcorn, a butler on call around the clock. Minimum two nights, three to five over peak and festive dates.
Getting there
Cam Ranh Airport is seventy-five minutes away by road, and Aman covers the transfer for up to six people. Cam Ranh takes direct international flights from Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Busan, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Haikou and Phnom Penh, and domestic hops of sixty-five minutes from Ho Chi Minh City, seventy-five from Da Nang and 105 from Hanoi. Driving up from Ho Chi Minh City takes about five hours on the highway.
February to August is the dry window on this coast, and the sea flattens out from March. The residence sleeps six adults comfortably, more with the children’s beds in two of the rooms. Book the whole thing and the beach below belongs to the house.
