The CFDA has posted its preliminary calendar. New York goes first this September, and it goes without fur.
The dates are set. The Official New York Fashion Week Schedule for spring/summer 2027 runs Thursday 10 September to Tuesday 15 September. Seventy runway shows and presentations sit on the preliminary list, with more collections to arrive by appointment and in digital form. The CFDA has organised the calendar since it acquired the Fashion Calendar in October 2014, a scheduling tool the publisher Ruth Finley founded back in 1945.
The openers
The week begins with a debut. Henry Zankov shows his first collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg on the morning of 10 September, a CFDA member handed one of the more recognisable American houses. Thom Browne closes the schedule on 15 September, the last word and, as ever, the most staged.
Ralph Lauren shows the Spring 2027 collection on Wednesday 9 September, the eve of the official week. He is not alone on that day. Coach shows, and so does Rachel Comey, who marks 25 years in business this season. Cult Gaia, J. Press and Libertine round out the night before New York formally begins.
The spine of the week is familiar. Michael Kors Collection, Calvin Klein Collection, Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Khaite, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, Ulla Johnson, Anna Sui and LaQuan Smith all hold their places. Christian Siriano, Collina Strada, Simkhai, Todd Snyder, Norma Kamali and Lafayette 148 fill out the middle. Monse, threeASFOUR and Tommy Hilfiger return to the calendar after time away.
The fur line
The real change is a rule. The CFDA announced its fur-free policy in September 2025, and this is the season it takes effect. Every brand on the Official NYFW Schedule shows without fur. No exceptions are written into the calendar.
American designers have drifted away from fur for years, house by house, but a blanket condition on the official schedule is a different thing. It makes the absence a fact of the week rather than a choice each label announces on its own. New York is the first of the four cities to write the line into its calendar, and the industry will read it as a marker for the ones that follow.
New York has always sold the new name. This season it also sells a rule, and the rule travels further than any single show.
The Splendid EditThe newcomers
The fresh names carry the interest. Sabyasachi Mukherjee joins the official schedule for the first time, the Indian couturier bringing his own audience to a New York calendar. Conner Ives lands on the list beside him, along with Magda Butrym, Benjamin Seidler, Max Esmail, Patrick Taylor, Zaldy and a run of studio labels new to the week.
The prize class arrives too. The 2026 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists Bad Binch TongTong, Jamie Haller and Milamore appear on the calendar for the first time. They join fellow fund finalists Aisling Camps, Amir Taghi, Lii by Zane Li and Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, a group the industry watches for the next American name worth backing.
The week ahead
The calendar is still provisional, so times and formats can shift before the doors open. One detail is already fixed. Out of respect for the twenty-fifth anniversary of 11 September, the Friday schedule starts at 10:00 am rather than earlier.
